Common questions
Answers to common problems with the apps.
Signing in
I can't sign in with my mobile number.
Your Stafforahr account is set up by your employer. Ask your HR or admin to check that you are added with the same mobile number you are signing in with, and that login access is turned on for you.
I didn't get the OTP.
Check that the number is right, wait a minute, then ask for a new OTP. Each OTP works for 10 minutes, and asking for a new one cancels the previous one, so always use the latest. Some companies send sign-in OTPs to the company's or owner's phone instead, so ask them for the code. If you see "Too many requests", wait 15 minutes and try again.
The app signed me out.
You need to sign in again 30 days after you last signed in. You are also signed out if your employer turns off your login.
I forgot my password.
Sign in with your mobile number and an OTP instead. If that doesn't work, ask your HR or contact us.
I changed my mobile number.
Ask your HR to update the mobile number on your employee profile, then sign in with the new number.
Punching in and out
The app doesn't let me punch at all.
Your employer can turn punching from the app on or off for the whole company and for each person. You also need a registered face before your first punch. Ask your HR to check both.
The app says I'm outside the work area.
When you punch, your location is checked against the work location your employer has set for you. Turn on location, move closer to that location and try again. If you are at work and still see this, ask HR to check the location set for you.
My face isn't matching.
Punch in good light, hold the phone at eye level and look straight at the camera. Take off sunglasses, a mask or a cap. If it still fails, ask HR to remove your registered face so you can register it again.
The app can't use my camera or location.
Allow both in your phone's settings. On iPhone, open Settings, then Stafforahr, turn on Camera and set Location to While Using the App. On Android, open Settings, then Apps, then Stafforahr, then Permissions. Our privacy policy explains why the app asks for each permission.
I punched without internet.
Your punch is saved on your phone and sent when you are back online, with the time you actually punched. Open the app once you have internet, within 7 days, so it can sync. When it syncs, the punch goes through the usual checks, so it can still be turned down, for example if you were outside your work location. Breaks need internet.
My punch shows as pending.
Your employer may need to approve punches from the app before they count. The owner, or an admin allowed to change attendance, approves them.
I forgot to punch in or out.
Ask for a correction for that day from your attendance, or tell your manager or HR. Your attendance is updated once the correction is approved.
Stafforahr Lens
Stafforahr Lens doesn't recognise someone.
Each device running Stafforahr Lens keeps its own registered faces, so the person must be registered on this device, even if they use face attendance in the employee app. Ask your admin to register them. Stand in front of the device one person at a time, in good light.
Stafforahr Lens is signed out.
While Stafforahr Lens is signed out, it can't mark attendance. Someone allowed to run it, usually HR or an admin, must sign in again. A normal employee login can't sign in to Stafforahr Lens.
The device running Stafforahr Lens has no internet.
Punches are saved on the device and sent when it is back online, with the time each person actually punched. Get it back online within 7 days so every punch is sent.
Leave and pay
My leave balance looks wrong.
Leave balances follow the leave rules your company has set up. Ask your HR to check your balance and the rules that apply to you.
I can't see my payslip.
Your payslip appears once your employer finalises payroll for the month. Your employer can also limit which months you can see, or turn payslips off. If you still can't see it, ask your HR.
My salary or deductions look wrong.
Salaries and deductions are worked out from the rules your employer sets up. Your HR can explain the figures or correct them. We can't change salaries for your employer.
For owners and HR
How do my staff start using the app?
Add them as employees with their mobile number. They install Stafforahr from Google Play or the App Store and sign in with that number. If someone can't sign in, check that Allow Employee to Login is on in your company settings, and that Login access is on for them. You can set Login access from the Employees list with Employee login.
A staff member's punch isn't showing.
If Approve Punch Before Counting Attendance is on, punches from the app wait under App punches until someone approves them. A second punch within the Double Punch Interval (5 minutes unless you change it) is ignored. Punches made without internet arrive once the phone is back online.
How do I raise a support ticket?
Sign in to the Stafforahr web app, open your profile menu and choose Support. Staff can raise tickets only if their role has the Raise ticket permission under Help & Support.
Your account and data
How do I delete my account?
Follow the steps on our Delete your account page. It explains what we delete, what we keep and for how long.
What does the app collect, and why?
Our privacy policy lists what we collect, the phone permissions the app asks for and how we use them.
I left my job. What happens to my data?
Your employer removes your access when you leave. You can also ask us to delete your account. The Delete your account page explains which records employers must keep by law, and for how long.
